NORTH 45° WEST - WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

First of all it is a bearing and the most precise way to call out the direction Northwest (NW).  We felt this was appropriate in many respects, considering our long history in Oregon. 

The name also has reference to the Latitude/Longitude of Oregon.  The 45th parallel runs right through the middle of the state, which means we are halfway between the Equator and the North Pole. 

The Latitude/Longitude for Bend is:

44°03'29" North     121°18'55" West

The Territory of Oregon was an organized incorporated territory of the United States that existed from August 14, 1848, until February 14, 1859, when the southwestern portion of the territory was admitted to the Union as the State of Oregon.

Dave Cloninger has over 20 years experience in Land Surveying, Construction Management, and Land Development.  His career has led him to opportunities in a variety of places in the Western Hemisphere.  He has had the privilege to work in Alaska, Washington, California, New Mexico, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Arizona, Utah and Texas.  He has also spent several years abroad working in Mexico, Panama, and Argentina.
